Khabibulin carried a shutout for nearly half the game, but Dean McAmmond spoiled his bid 8:06 into the second. In his past five starts, the former All-Star goalie has not allowed more than one goal.

Andreychuk scored the eventual-game winner 6 1/2 minutes into the second period by putting a snap shot past goaltender Kay Whitmore.

Whitmore started his first game of the season and made 18 saves for the Flames, who have just one win over their last five contests.

The Lightning earned their first win in Calgary since March 21, 1997, snapping a three-game losing streak at the Canadian Airlines Saddledome.
