San Jose 3, Calgary 1

CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Early goals by Adam Graves and Owen Nolan were more than enough for Evgeni Nabokov, who stopped 24 shots Thursday night as the San Jose Sharks extended their unbeaten streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Nabokov allowed just a second-period goal to Craig Conroy in his eighth straight start, improving to 2-1-1 with a 1.69 goals-against average lifetime against Calgary. The 26-year-old from Kazakhstan was at his best in the third period, when he made back-to-back point-blank stops on Ronald Petrovicky with just over 13 minutes left.

Two minutes earlier, Jarome Iginla put a shot off the outside of the right goalpost while looking at a half-empty net during a Flames' power play.

Niklas Sundstrom scored his second goal in as many games with 1:47 remaining to seal the win as San Jose improved to 4

1 in its last five games. The Sharks have posted consecutive road wins for just the second time this season.

Roman Turek surrendered two goals on 11 shots and was pulled for the first time this season as Calgary fell to 1-5-4 in its last 10 games.
