Grizzlies place Wright on injured list

MEMPHIS, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- The Memphis Grizzlies Thursday placed center Lorenzen Wright on the injured list with a fractured left knee.

Wright, who is averaging 14.1 points and a team-high 11.3 rebounds, suffered the injury during Monday's 113-71 loss at Orlando.

Initial x-rays did not reveal a serious injury, but an MRI taken Wednesday night showed a non-displaced fracture of the lateral tibial plateau just below the knee.

Wright will be sidelined at least a month, at which point he will be re-evaluated.

To fill the roster spot, the Grizzlies activated rookie forward Antonio Fotsis, who had been on the injured list since Nov. 19 with right knee tendinitis.

Fotsis, who was drafted out of the Greek Suproleague, has played just one game for Memphis, which is last in the Midwest Division with a 4-13 record. Since a 1-11 start, the Grizzlies have won three of five games.
