Arlington Intl. wins 2002 Breeders' Cup

CHICAGO, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Arlington International Racecourse will host the 2002 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, marking the first new venue in years for what has been likened to the Super Bowl of horse racing, Breeders Cup Limited announced Monday. Arlington, perhaps the plushest racing venue in the United States, will have to add thousands of permanent seats to accommodate the 19th running of the eight-race series, scheduled for Oct. 26.
