Dallas 4, Minnesota 3

Nov. 25, 2001 at 5:06 PM

ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Defenseman Sergei Zubov scored twice in a 57-second span of the third period Sunday as the Dallas Stars extended their road unbeaten streak to four games with a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild.

Dallas has struggled at the new American Airlines Center with just one win in its last eight home games. But a trip back to their former home helped the Stars end an overall three-game winless streak and kept them unbeaten in their last four on the road (3

1).

Zubov had gone 12 games without a goal, but got two in less than a minute to break a 2-2 tie. With 11:37 remaining, his wrist shot from above the right faceoff circle was deflected over goaltender Dwayne Roloson's right shoulder.

Moments later, Joe Nieuwendyk won a faceoff in the right circle and got the puck back to Zubov, who fired a slap shot past Roloson for his fifth goal of the season.

It turned out to be the game-winner after Minnesota rookie Pascal Dupuis scored with 8:29 to play.

Nieuwendyk tallied twice in the opening period for Dallas, which has taken the last three meetings from Minnesota after losing the first two.

Andrew Brunette picked up a pair of assists, but the Wild failed in their bid for a third straight win.
