Toronto 2, Boston 0

TORONTO, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Curtis Joseph stopped 29 shots for his second shutout of the season against Boston and Travis Green and Jonas Hoglund ended goal-scoring droughts Saturday night as the Toronto Maple Leafs extended their home unbeaten streak to eight games with a 2-0 blanking.

With Patrick Roy opting to skip the Salt Lake City Games, Joseph is vying with Martin Brodeur and others for one of the goaltending spots on Team Canada. He continued to thrive against the Bruins with eight saves in the first period, nine in the second and 12 in the third.

Joseph recorded his 35th career shutout and extended his scoreless streak against Boston to 123 minutes, 36 seconds.

Green had gone 14 games without a goal, but scored the only one Joseph needed at 14:23 of the opening period. Hoglund added an insurance tally midway through the second, ending an eight-game drought.

Byron Dafoe made just 10 saves for Boston, which has one win in its last five road games (1-3-1). A victory would have moved the Bruins into a first-place tie with Toronto in the Northeast Division.
