LAS VEGAS, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Maurice Baker scored 20 points and three others reached double figures Monday night as No. 16 Oklahoma State did not show any signs of fatigue in an 83-65 victory over Providence in the Las Vegas Tournament.
The Cowboys (3-0) were playing their third game in four nights as they extended a six-point lead in the second half to put the Friars away.
Oklahoma State pulled away with a 15-6 run midway through the second half. The Cowboys turned a 50-44 edge into a 65-50 lead with 8:19 to play.
The Friars never got closer than 13 points thereafter. Providence shot 30.5 percent (18-of-61) and 14 percent (3-of-21) from beyond the arc.
Victor Williams was matched up against Providence's defensive whiz John Linehan, but did not seem to have any problems against him. Williams added 17 points. Linehan had 13 points, but fouled out with six minutes left in the game.
Oklahoma State will face Siena on Tuesday and Providence faces Austin Peay in the final day of round-robin action.
