Dallas 3, San Jose 2 (OT)

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Defenseman Richard Matvichuk scored his first goal of the season 50 seconds into overtime Saturday night to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Matvichuk's slap shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle was stopped by Evgeni Nabokov, but he got his own rebound and and put a wrist shot from the same spot between the goaltender's pads to end a 19-game drought.

Derian Hatcher and Rob DiMaio also scored their first goals for Dallas, which completed a 2


1 road trip and improved to 3
1 in its last four visits to San Jose.

Niklas Sundstrom scored his third goal and Owen Nolan got his seventh as the Sharks returned from a six-game road trip. San Jose suffered its third overtime loss of the season and fell to 5


1-2 at home.
