Meanwhile, McGrady and Hill demonstrated why many observers belive Orlando is a leading contender to win the Eastern Conference. McGrady made 9-of-16 shots and handed out five assists in improving to 3-1 in head-to-head meetings with Carter -- his cousin and former teammate in Toronto.

Hill, who played just four games last season before being forced to sit out due to surgery on his left ankle, showed no effects from his injury. He made 9-of-14 shots and added five assists for Orlando, which placed six players in double figures.

Orlando held a 55-47 halftime lead and took control of the game with a 19-4 run to open the third quarter. Hill and Darrell Armstrong each had seven points in the spurt while McGrady scored the other five for a 74-51 lead with just under six minutes left.
