ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Martin Skoula scored with 6:35 remaining and David Aebischer made 21 saves for his third straight win Sunday night as the Colorado Avalanche rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Eric Messier took the puck from the bottom of the right faceoff circle and skated behind the Anaheim net to the right of goaltender Jean-Sebastian Giguere. Skoula was in the slot and took the pass from Messier before putting a low wrist shot past Giguere's glove side for his second goal of the season.
Aebischer stopped all 10 of Anaheim's shots in the third period to improve to 3-1-0. With Giguere on the bench for an extra attacker, Aebischer denied Mike LeClerc's one-timer from the top of the crease with 36.4 seconds to go.
Joe Sakic and Steven Reinprecht also scored as Colorado improved to 5
Anaheim left wing Paul Kariya had two shots, but has gone 10 games without a goal to match the longest drought of his career.
