MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Alion Science and Technology has been contracted to support efforts to provide the U.S. Army with a reliable munitions supply.
U.S. company Alion was awarded a task order from the Army Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition System. Under the $3 million contract, Alion will provide technical services in support of the PM MAS' mission to supply the Army with high-quality munitions.
As part of the three-year deal Alion will be responsible for technical planning and analysis for the PM MAS ammunition product portfolio and associated weapon systems, among other services.
"We provide high-quality analysis to the PM MAS product portfolio to help reduce ammunition life cycle costs and supply chain risk, as well as improve product quality," Chris Amos, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Technology Solutions Group, said in a statement.
