HICKSVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- American Defense Systems Inc. has begun developing a ship window with counter-ballistic technologies in support of an Australian navy contract.
New York-based armor technologies developer ADSI is working on a counter-ballistic ship window prototype based on designs by Ohio-based Genvac Aerospace Inc.
Genvac is working under a contract with BAE Systems Australia to deliver advanced ship windows as part of a deal with the Australian navy.
"ADSI is proud to work with Genvac Aerospace Inc. and BAE Systems Australia to deliver the thinnest, lightest transparent armor for the Australian navy," Anthony Piscitelli, ADSI chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Combining the strength of our ballistic assembly with thin film-enabled heating and anti-glare capabilities affords the vessel with superior protection and visibility. We certainly look forward to a successful program and the prospects of future projects with this team."
