PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Oregon-based Eid Passport Inc. announced the launch of a new program designed to provide quick and secure access to military installations.

Eid Passport has launched the Rapid-Remote Credential Checking program, or Rapid-RCx, which officials say increases the level of secured access to military installations and also provides enables a quick verification of identification cards.

The Rapid-RCx program, expected to be implemented first at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in San Diego, authenticates credentialed military personnel, vendors, military family members and others by scanning driver licenses and other identification cards through mobile readers at military installation access points.

Officials say access is granted after credentials pass no-entry and debarment clearance lists.

"The Rapid-RCx Program is another integral layer of a fully integrated access solution that addresses multiple populations requiring access to military installations and government facilities," Steve Larson, Eid Passport chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"The Rapid-RCx Program creates a streamlined access process that reduces the administrative costs, burden and associated errors of manually verifying an individual's credential status."
