South Carolina-based Force Protection received a contract modification from the French military. The modification is for the production of five of the company's Buffalo MRAP vehicles, which are designed to offer additional protection for troops against improvised explosive devices and other ballistic threats.
Force Protection's deal with the French military now totals $3.5 million.
"We are proud to provide these vehicles to the French government," Michael Moody, Force Protection chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"This represents another important step in the continued growth of our international customer base. Force Protection's battle-proven vehicle platforms continue to be the choice of our allied fighting forces throughout the world."
