SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., July 22 (UPI) -- General Dynamics (NYSE:GD) C4 Systems selected a Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) computer operating system to support a National Security Agency classified networking contract.
General Dynamics officials announced the selection of Dell's trademarked OptiPlex 755 desktop as the host operating system for the company's trusted virtual environment. The NSA contracted General Dynamics for development of a computer networking system capable of securing classified work.
General Dynamics says the resulting high-assurance platform-compliant workstation enables a secure computer workstation technology with access to different classification levels from multiple networks.
"Government customers engaged in classified work require solutions that deliver effective network security in complex environments," Troy West, Dell Federal vice president, said in a statement.
"The Dell OptiPlex 755 helps simplify the user experience by providing an efficient, secure foundation for the HAP-compliant workstation."
