The military awarded Rocky Brands a $6 million extension and a new task order worth $1.2 million.
Officials say the $6 million extension is for continued production of the company's hot-weather boots in support of Army combat operations and training. The extension adds to a previous $6.4 million deal with the military.
Under the new award, Rocky Brands will produce its S2V tactical assault footwear for deployment with the military's Special Forces units. The S2V boots are specifically designed for the Special Forces and offer soldiers flame-resistant footwear and added protections to reduce ankle injuries.
"Rocky is a proud supporter of the men and women serving our country, and we are pleased to continue our relationship with the United States military by providing U.S.-made footwear that is built to perform at the highest levels," Mike Brooks, Rocky Brands chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
