OMAHA, July 16 (UPI) -- DRS Technologies has contracted 21st Century Systems Inc. to supply its software technology in support of the Jordan Border Security Program.

DRS, which recently was selected by the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command for implementation of the Jordan Border Security Program, selected Nebraska-based 21CSI for its trademarked High Resolution Situational Awareness software.

Officials say the HiRSA, originally deployed in Fallujah, Iraq, for the U.S. Marines, will support the border-security initiatives in Jordan through situational awareness and surveillance information technology.

"The use of this software has already been proven in the field, protecting our military service people in Iraq by reducing manpower requirements, while still receiving the information needed and enhancing awareness while decreasing response time," Jeffrey Hicks, 21CSI chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"This groundbreaking software will fill a similarly significant need on the world's critical borders."
