Ciena, based in Maryland, says its CN 4200 FlexSelect Advanced Services Platform, CoreDirector Multiservice Optical Switch and CoreStream Agility Optical Transport System wavelength division multiplexing and optical switching technologies meet Defense Department network interoperability and optical requirements.

With the JITC verification, the Ciena platforms can be deployed at approved Defense Department agencies on the department's networks.

"This extensive certification is a key milestone in our continued focus on this market, enabling these products to be used more widely across Department of Defense networks."
