SAN MATEO, Calif., April 25 (UPI) -- California-based MotionDSP announced the launch of a video forensic software capable of operating on a laptop for security officials working in the field.

MotionDSP, a digital video technologies developer for the surveillance market intelligence community, has released the Ikena Reveal, a Microsoft Windows-compatible video forensic software. Officials say the trademarked technology runs on desktop and laptop computers enabling law enforcement officials to work in the lab and on location.

MotionDSP officials say Ikena Reveal is capable of revealing details from security camera video frames containing moving objects or scenes with complex motion through the use of neighboring frames. Ikena Reveal can be deployed in automatic mode, which benefits officers in the field by cutting down on time to extract crucial information with greater detail from fewer frames of poor-quality video.

"Ikena Reveal is a huge step forward in video forensics, a software market that has seen little innovation over the last decade," Sean Varah, MotionDSP chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We've designed Ikena Reveal to be used not only by video forensics experts, but more importantly the people working the cases: detectives, analysts and security professionals."
