The contract is one of 12 construction and design services large business contracts from the Air Force for facilities and infrastructure sustainment, restoration and modernization. The awards go to support the Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency initiatives including support services to address "environmental restoration, military family housing and the military construction program at existing Air Force facilities," the release said.

"The sustainment, restoration, and modernization control contract gives Versar the potential for significant infrastructure work for the Air Force during the next decade," Ted Prociv, Versar president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We are proud to partner with Johnson Controls Federal Systems in this important contract to help maintain our country's readiness around the world. SATOC will be an important contributor toward our goal of growing Versar's business profitability in the coming years."

The five-year SATOC contract will award work to each contractor through a task order system. The contract also includes five one-year options.
