Riptide is a Shea Development Corp. subsidiary. Company officials say the TRACR system was installed at Blackwell Mountain Multiuse Range, Clear Creek Rifle Alpha Range, and Cowhouse Machine Gun Range at Fort Hood, Texas, and will eventually replace existing targetry control systems at over 80 U.S. Army ranges.

"TRACR provides a low-cost solution for upgrading the existing control system to a modern, graphical, windows-based system with a rapid turnaround for installation ultimately minimizing range downtime," the company said.

Officials say major target device communication protocols including enhanced remote equipment target system and future Army system of integrated targets used at the army training installations are supported by the TRACR system. Additionally Riptide's TRACR system supports live fire exercises for weapon skill qualification and sustainment at collective training events and combat training centers among others.

"Range Operations personnel use the results of training exercise plans to prepare target devices for exercise execution and to provide realistic friendly, neutral, and threat targets and weapon effect simulation during exercise execution. ROPS personnel also use these training exercise results after exercise execution. TRACR supports training preparation, presentation, and feedback of these training exercises," the company said.
