Massachusetts-based Foster-Miller is a subsidiary of QinetiQ North America.

The Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division is the service manager and purchasers of Explosive Ordnance Disposal robots for the U.S. military. The announcement is for an order of another $37 million of Talon Explosive Ordnance Disposal robots and replacement parts adding to the current $257 million contract with Foster-Miller.

The additional funding is the second award for Foster-Miller's Talon robots in August. Two weeks ago the Naval Air Warfare Training Systems Division ordered Foster-Miller Talon robots and parts for $51 million.

"Once again, we thank Naval Air Warfare Training Systems Division for its continuing support of our Talon robots," said William Ribich, Foster-Miller president and chief executive officer, in a statement. "We join with them in their determination to provide our troops with all the equipment they need for their vital missions in Iraq and Afghanistan."
