UNION CITY, Ga., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- TenCate Protective Fabrics USA has been contracted by both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines for flame-resistant fabrics.

TenCate produces protective fabrics designed to meet the rigorous standards of performance mandated by U.S. government specifications in an effort to protect service members.

The United States Marine Corps has officially commended TenCate for delivering a high level of quality in its products and services in response to the demands of the U.S. armed forces.

"TenCate Protective Fabric's exceptional ability, initiative, and dedication to the Defender fabric used in the Flame Resistant Combat Ensembles for the FROG program reflect great credit upon the company and are in keeping with the highest industry standards," the USMC said in a statement.

TenCate officials say the company is dedicated to the development of specialized materials that meet the demands of the U.S. military. TenCate's trademarked Defender fabric technology has been approved for military use as an economical fabric with durable protective comfort withstanding the rugged conditions in the field.
