MANAMA, Bahrain, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Authorities in Bahrain have reported the discovery of camp where young militants were being trained to stage riots.
The facility was found Sunday night on a farm near the village of Bani Jamra, an area heavily populated by Shiites, who make up about 70 percent of the population of the country but view themselves as marginalized.
The Gulf Daily News quoted officials as saying the discovery followed the arrest of a man carrying a Molotov cocktail (gasoline bomb) on a road outside the village.
Northern Governate Police Director Col. Adel Al Fadhel said a raid on the camp netted 25 men aged between 20 and 25.
The militants were reportedly being trained in the staging of riots, how to attack police vehicles using fire bombs and other techniques of disorder.
