The app features a dead teenager who walks around in a hoodie "stealing wallets for points" and killing bad guys.
The creators of the app, a company called Trade Digital, had intended to charge users $1.99 to download the game, but the app was taken off the store after a petition was launched on Change.org requesting that Google pull the app because it "promotes violence and exploits the unfortunate death of Trayvon Martin."
Google has not explained whether its decision to pull the app was motivated by the petition.
The creators of "Angry Travon" apologized to their fans via Facebook claiming the app was just "an action game for entertainment" and that it was "by no means a racist game."
