At long last, five popular streaming services have been added to Apple's media streaming box Apple TV, including HBO Go and WatchESPN.

Also added were Sky News, Crunchyroll and Qello, and Apple said the new iTunes Radio service will be added when it launches in the fall.

Although Apple TV offers integration with iTunes content at a reasonable price, its lack of popular streaming services, compared to Roku and other competing devices, have long been a point of criticism.

As with other streaming boxes, HBO Go and WatchESPN require subscriptions.

Software updates will be pushed out for download for second and third generation Apple TVs Wednesday.
