Bill Gates to Mark Zuckerberg: I'll take the ice bucket challenge, and improve it

Video shows Gates welding a pulley system together so he can dump the ice on himself.

SEATTLE, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Microsoft founder and CEO Bill Gates responded to Mark Zuckerberg's ice bucket challenge by "improving" upon it and challenging other prominent innovators (and Ryan Seacrest) to take part.

"I'm glad to give to ALS, it's a great cause," Gates begins, side-stepping Zuckerberg's mild PR gaff from his turn under the bucket.

"I wanna accept this challenge, I wanna do it better than its been done."

Gates is then shown studiously drawing blueprints for and later building a simple pulley system, allowing him to dump the ice on himself.

Before testing the allegedly handmade device, Gates challenges Tesla founder Elon Musk, Chris Anderson of TED, and the hardest working man in Hollywood, Ryan Seacrest to take the challenge.
