State-owned Egyptian company set to introduce tablet reader

CAIRO, April 13 (UPI) -- Egypt said it is ready to introduce its first tablet reader, to be produced by state-owned electronics firm Katron.

Plans for producing 10,000 of the mobile devices by the end of the year, and 20 million units in four years, Ahram Online reported Saturday.

Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Atef Helmy announced the launch of the tablet reader, which is called Inar, at Egypt's Information and Communication Technology forum.
