SEOUL, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Samsung has announced an event for March at which it's widely expected to announce its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S IV, tech watchers are reporting.

Samsung will host an event in the United States on March 22, Asian Economic News reported, which is expected to be the unveiling of the new phone, which could then go on sale sometime in April.

The SamMobile website is saying Samsung plans to ship the phone beginning April 5 in two colors -- black and white -- and with wireless charging capabilities.

Samsung will sell a separate dock and back cover for the device and will offer the wireless charging kit a couple of weeks after the phone's launch, Slash Gear reported.

The Galaxy S IV battery is rumored to be a 2,600 mAh unit, an upgrade over the current Galaxy S III's 2,100 mAh battery, Slash Gear said.
