220 iPhone 5's stolen in Japan

OSAKA, Japan, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Thieves in Japan stole more than 220 iPhone 5's Friday on the first day of the release of the coveted Apple device, police said.

Retail outlets in Osaka, Ibaraki and Sakai were robbed of 191 of the smartphones, Kyodo reported. Thieves in Ibaraki also stole more than $4,700 in cash.

Additional iPhone 5 thefts were reported in Kobe, police said.
