NEW YORK, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Motorola has introduced three new Razr smartphones, the company's first major product unveiling since it was acquired by Google in March.

Motorola Chief Executive Officer Dennis Woodside announced the Motorola Razr M, Motorola Razr HD and a Motorola Razr Maxx HD Wednesday, USA Today reported.

The Razr M, running the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android and featuring a 4.3-inch screen, will be in stores next seek, Motorola said, priced at $99 with a Verizon contract and after a rebate.

The Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD, both with larger 4.7-inch screen, will follow later, the company said, with pricing yet to be announced.

The new phones will debut in a time of fierce competition in the smartphone arena, with Microsoft and Nokia introducing Lumia smartphones based on the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system and Apple expected to introduce the iPhone 5 Sept. 12.

Woodside acknowledged "there's a lot of innovation in the (mobile) space right now. But the big picture is we're excited about the Razr brand ... and partnership with Verizon."
