Daycare workers charged in toddler fights

DOVER, Del., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Three Delaware daycare workers were arrested after police said they encouraged toddlers in their care to fight each other.

The workers were allegedly seen on a cell phone video watching and cheering on a fight between two 3-year-olds at a Dover daycare facility, television station KYW in Philadelphia reported.

Tiana Harris, 19, Lisa Parker, 47, and Estefania Myers, 21, were charged Monday with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and conspiracy.

The incident occurred in March.

The video has not been shown to parents because police say it is evidence. However, police said one child is heard on the recording yelling "He's pinching me." A daycare worker responds, "No pinching, only punching."

The license of the daycare center, Hands of Our Future Daycare, has been suspended pending a hearing.

The daycare owner could not be reached for comment.
