CAIRO, March 29 (UPI) -- An Egyptian-American group says Egypt should allow expatriates to vote using their passports rather than national identification cards.

The Egyptian American Coalition says many of the 7 million Egyptians who live overseas, particularly those in the United States, Canada and Australia, do not hold national identification cards and won't be able to vote in June's presidential elections, Ahram Online reported Thursday.

Only 355,569 expats registered last year on embassy Web sites to vote during parliamentary elections, the coalition said.
