DEERFIELD, Ill., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. pharmacy chain Walgreen Co. said Monday it will buy the prescription files and inventory from 33 Kmart pharmacies located in 16 states.
Walgreens said it would transfer the files to nearby Walgreen pharmacies. Any patient who has had their file active within the past two years would be notified of the transaction by mail, Walgreen said.
Financial terms for the deal were not disclosed.
Kmart locations in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin are involved in the deal.
