NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A tech-savvy New York policeman used his iPhone to home in on another one stolen at gunpoint from a 24-year-old woman, authorities said.
The victim was in a Manhattan boutique Thursday when the thief pulled out a gun, demanded her iPhone and fled, the New York Daily News reported.
Police officer Robert Garland, after interviewing the victim, entered her iTunes information into the iCloud app on his phone and located her device just 11 blocks away.
Police said George Bradshaw was arrested by officers scouring the local neighborhood when the victim's phone, tucked inside his boot, began beeping.
They recovered the iPhone but found no weapon, they said.
Bradshaw, 40, was charged with second-degree robbery and criminal possession of stolen property.
