VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Delta Oil and Gas Inc. announced the completion of the drilling of a third horizontal development well in Wordsworth, Saskatchewan.

Delta said its original testing of the 14-7-3W2 horizontal well yielded an initial flow rate of roughly 150 barrels of oil per day.

The company said the well was drilled to a horizontal depth of 6,332 feet.

Test data from preliminary drill results show the development well could produce oil at a rate similar to other projects in western Canada.

"We anticipate that this well will produce at its strongest levels in the first two years and expect to extract in excess of 60,000 barrels of oil in that time," the company said.

The well is located in the Mississippian Alida bed known to host significant hydrocarbon resources with prolific oil reserves.

Delta said it was prepared fiscally to operate the field, though final costs have yet to be determined.
