STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Swedish power company Vattenfall announced it is set to acquire Eclipse Energy U.K.

Vattenfall previously had received 91.2 percent of Eclipse Energy U.K.'s shares. Now it is making an effort to acquire the rest of the company's shares and announced it has made an offer.

Vattenfall Chief Executive Officer Lars Josefsson said the deal gives Vattenfall the opportunity to increase its presence in the United Kingdom.

The move would allow Vattenfall to develop Eclipse's six offshore wind projects in the United Kingdom, representing more than 200 megawatts of electricity.

Josefsson said Vattenfall has been looking to expand its wind power capacity.
