BEIJING, July 28 (UPI) -- China's National Development and Reform Commission approved three new wind power projects.

The NDRC announced it has given the go-ahead for the construction of three wind farms with a total capacity of 450,000 kilowatts.

One of the farms will be built in Hebei province in Shangyi county by state-run Guohua Energy Investments. That project has a capacity of 199,500 kilowatts.

The second farm will be built by the China Longyuan Power Group in the same area with a 150,000-kilowatt capacity.

And a private company, whose name has not yet been released, was approved for the third project, which is planned for Zhangbei in Hebei province. Its expected capacity is 100,500 kilowatts.
