NASA's Curiosity Rover celebrated its first year on Mars Monday and to celebrate the especial occasion the rover sang itself "Happy Birthday" in what some are calling the "loneliest" celebration ever.
To commemorate Curiosity's first anniversary on the red planet, NASA scientists equipped the rover to play the tune by programming its sample analysis unit to vibrate at different frequencies to move soil samples and thus produce the robot-on-Mars version of the birthday anthem.
