LOS ANGELES, May 30 (UPI) -- Amazon's voice-powered A.I. personal assistant, Alexa, found inside the Echo, is now in your browser with the launch of Echosim.io.

In other words, for people who don't have Alexa, you can get a taste of what the device is like through the new web app. If you don't live in the U.S. or can't afford Alexa, Amazon is likely preparing the way for the day when it will be more affordable and everywhere.

Access the app at echosim.io and ask Alexa various questions. You don't have the same voice activation system, so you'll have to click and hold a button on the site to give it voice commands, which a lot like Amazon's Tap.

Alexa can provide owners of the device with various news and information, as well as control certain other device around your house, but being able to integrate with third-party developers has been one of its best selling points.

Users can order an Uber ride or a pizza or, some have noted, even tune a guitar with the device.

Anyone with an Amazon account can use the simulator and pepper Alexa with questions.
