AVALON, Calif., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A snorkeler in California discovered the carcass of an 18-foot-long marine creature known as an oarfish, called a "once-in-a-lifetime" discovery.
"It just amazed me," Jeff Chace, director of the Catalina Island Marine Institute, said after 15 people pitched in to lug the "leviathan" onto the island's shore.
