Egg painting record broken in Netherlands

HEEMSKERK, Netherlands, April 10 (UPI) -- Organizers of an Easter egg painting event in the Netherlands set they broke a world record by dying 397 eggs in 3 minutes.

A representative from Fort Veldhuis in Heemskerk said the 350 participants beat the previous record of 317 eggs painted in 3 minutes, which was set last year in the United States, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported Tuesday.

The representative said the event was photographed and videotaped to submit to Guinness World Records for official recognition. The organizers expect to hear back from the record keeping organization in a few weeks, the representative said.
