Mars rover Curiosity drills second hole to gather samples for analysis
ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- An orphaned baby manatee rescued from a swimming cove in a Florida state park is responding well to treatment, animal experts say.
The female calf was discovered Wednesday at Sebastian Inlet State Park in Melbourne Beach, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Experts from SeaWorld Orlando and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say it's not clear why the baby, between 3 and 6 months old, was orphaned.
SeaWorld's animal rescue team worked with the FWC to rescue the calf and take it to the water-themed park, where the 4-foot-long animal was said to be swimming on its own and responding well to fluids.
