New theory addresses frozen Earth paradox
BAIKONUR, Russia, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- New crew members are heading for the International Space Station aboard a Soyuz capsule launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, NASA announced.
The Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft carrying crew members Anton Shkaplerov, Anatoly Ivanishin and Dan Burbank blasted off at 11:14 p.m. EST Sunday, a NASA release said.
The Soyuz will dock with the ISS Wednesday morning and the new crew will join Mike Fossum, the Expedition 29 commander, and flight engineers Satoshi Furukawa and Sergei Volkov.
NASA astronaut and flight engineer Burbank is making his third visit to the ISS. He previously visited aboard the space shuttle Atlantis.
Fossum, Furukawa and Volkov will undock from the Rassvet mini-research module inside the Soyuz TMA-02M for a Nov. 21 return to Earth.
Shkaplerov, Ivanishin and Burbank are scheduled to live and work aboard the orbiting laboratory until March.
