HealthCare.gov answers healthcare queries

WASHINGTON, July 6 (UPI) -- HealthCare.gov can simplify the search to find healthcare coverage and explain provisions in the new healthcare law, the White House said.

The Web site started last week as part of a White House effort to help educate Americans about healthcare reform, health insurance and new rules for insurance companies under the Patient's Bill of Rights, Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, said in an e-mail message Tuesday.

"Just answer a few easy questions, and HealthCare.gov will provide all the coverage options that are right for you, including public and private health insurance tailored to your age, location and health needs," she said in the message.

The site also provides information about new benefits and protections for individuals, families and employers.

The site also offers pages for visitors to ask questions and provide feedback, DeParle said.

In October, HealthCare.gov will include information on the price of health insurance plans. Other additions include tools to help promote healthy lifestyles and a database of ratings on hospital quality, she said.
