Kroger recalls two soup and dip mixes

CINCINNATI, March 11 (UPI) -- The Kroger Co. says it is recalling Kroger-brand onion soup and dip mix and beefy onion soup and dip mix because of possible contamination.

The Cincinnati company said the products contain hydrolyzed vegetable protein supplies by another manufacturer and which might be tainted with salmonella bacteria.

The recalled products were sold by Kroger, Dillons, Fry's, King Soopers, City Market, Smith's, Food 4 Less, Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less stores.

Other stores the company operates -- Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC and Foods Co. -- are not involved in the recall.

The onion soup and dip mix has "sell-by" dates from "Jan 06 11" through "FEB 17 11.

The beefy onion soup and dip mix has dates from "Dec 18 10" through "Feb 23 11."
