COCOA, Fla., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The landing of the space shuttle Endeavor at Florida's Kennedy Space Center has been rescheduled from Feb. 17 to Feb. 19, NASA officials said Sunday.
Endeavour astronauts Robert Behnken and Nicholas Patrick completed the work planned for the mission's second spacewalk, integrating the new Tranquility node into the International Space Station, NASA reported Sunday.
The spacewalkers installed two ammonia coolant loops and thermal covers around the ammonia hoses, prepared the port on Tranquility, which faces Earth, for the relocation of its cupola, and installed a vent valve and handrails on the new module, NASA reported.
The spacewalk ended after 5 hours, 54 minutes, allowing Behnken and Patrick additional time in the airlock for a clean-up to avoid contamination, NASA said.
Mission Control activated one of the two ammonia cooling loops while the spacewalk was still proceeding, and said ammonia was flowing through Tranquility. The other loop will be activated during a spacewalk Tuesday.
Endeavour will undock from the station Friday.
