NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- The publisher of the scientific journal Nature says it is now offering an application for iPhone and iPod Touch users.

The free app allows users to search, browse, read and bookmark full text content from Nature and Nature News, as well PubMed, a search-interface that provides access to more than 11 million journal citations and links to full-text articles.

The Nature Publishing Group said its new app, available in the iPhone App Store and at www.nature.com/mobileapps, is compatible with the Sony eReader and many other e-readers, phones and devices.

Nature Publishing said access to the full text of all Nature and Nature News content through the app is free as an introductory offer until April 30 for users registered at nature.com.

"The nature.com iPhone app makes it easy to keep abreast of the latest in science news and research," Dan Pollock, associate director of nature.com, said. "We look forward to feedback from the community and to finding out more about how people use their mobile devices to find and read scientific papers and news."
