WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of some cylinder-style packages of 49 Flavors Jelly Belly jelly beans because of mislabeling.

The Jelly Belly Candy Co. of Fairfield, Calif., said the mislabeled 7.5-ounce packages fail to list peanut butter and peanut flour in the ingredient statement, presenting a possible life-threatening allergic reaction for people with a severe sensitivity to peanuts.

The Jelly Belly 49 Flavors cylinder packages were shipped to approximately 200 independent stores nationwide. The recalled packages display a lot code of 090925, 090928, 090929 or 091001 printed on a white label on the bottom of the cylinder package.

The company said there is no health risk for consumers who are not allergic to peanuts.

Consumers who have a peanut allergy and purchased the product can return it to the Jelly Belly Candy Co., One Jelly Belly Lane, Fairfield, Calif., 94533. Consumers with questions about the recall can call the company at 800-522-3267.
