NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis rolls out to launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- The NASA astronauts scheduled for the STS-129 mission to the International Space Station practiced procedures Tuesday aboard space shuttle Atlantis.

NASA said the launch countdown simulation at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida is part of the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test, typically conducted about two weeks prior to launch.

After completing the launch simulation and emergency launch pad escape training, the astronauts inspected the cargo that they'll fly to into space. They returned to the Johnson Space Center in Houston after the training session ended.

Atlantis is scheduled to lift off on its 11-day supply mission Monday Nov. 16 at 2:28 p.m. EST.
